Covid 19

18 March 2020

Today we have had a note following the Government’s latest advice around Coronavirus and social distancing. Subsequently the English Cricket Board has reviewed its stance, it is with sadness that we have to tell you that all forms of recreational cricket have been suspendedat this time.

This extends to all forms of cricket including training, pre-season friendlies, Senior league games, Juniors, All Stars/Dynamos and any associated cricket activity.

Sport plays an absolutely vital role in the nation’s mental and physical wellbeing  and over coming weeks the ECB will be looking to explore ways that they can support some levels of physical activity in communities - particularly at junior levels.

Using the cricket community to support others could be one of the most important services we can offer during the difficult next few months, so we will review and communicate with you any areas where we think we can support all club me.

We know how disappointing this will be to everyone in the club form players to family members and volunteers. We will do all that we can to ensure the game remains at the heart of communities and where possible helps to support you all.

Please take care of yourselves, we really do look forward to welcoming you back to East and West Hendred cricket club as soon as we can.

Stay safe, love and cricket

Liam Richards

Chairman

East & West Hendred Cricket Club
